Cambridge AS & A Level Digital Media & Design fosters creativity, critical evaluation, and practical skills in digital media, preparing learners for further study and industry work.

Overview

Cambridge International AS & A Level Digital Media & Design allows learners to explore a range of processes and techniques in digital media through flexible course design covering digital photography, moving image, games design and mobile and multimedia applications.

The syllabus:

  • develops an awareness of the world of digital media and design
  • develops learners’ creative processes and their ability to critically evaluate their work
  • encourages learners to combine innovative approaches and techniques to solve problems creatively
  • expands learners’ knowledge of digital media by exploring different designers, processes and concepts

Digital Photography and Image Editing

This module introduces digital photography techniques and the fundamentals of capturing and editing images using industry-standard software. Students will learn composition, lighting, and editing tools to produce high-quality visuals.

Video Production and Motion Graphics

Web and Interactive Media Design

question paper.

supervised test of 10 hours’ total duration

Personal Investigation
100 marks
This is a practical component supported by
written work. Candidates research a topic or
theme of their choice.
There are two elements to the investigation:
